Avoiding the biggest mistake in job advertising

 

The #1 reason that job postings fail is that they are never opened by the applicant.  You can't apply for what you can't see.

Which job would you apply to:

     Assistant / Associate Professor
     Assistant  / Associate Professor - Nutrition

     Human Resources Specialist
     Talent Engagement Specialist

More descriptive job descriptions will be opened faster.

However, don't overdo it.  Fifty characters or less works best.  Make every word count:

     Additional Adjunct Faculty: Computer Information Technology Department
     Computer Information Technology Adjunct

There is a fine line when casting to get someone's attention in a job ad.  A catchy job title is the best bait.
